Construction Management Consulting were engaged by the Main Contractor, McLaren Construction Ltd to provide the full scope of on-site commercial services on the rebuild of a 142,000 sq ft unit within Prologis Park, Bromley-by-Bow, for Standard Life Investments.
The project comprised of a large 126,000 sq ft warehouse with a two storey open plan high specification, office pod with views of Canary Wharf. The unit is of steel frame construction with the warehouse being clad with composite cladding system and the office façade consisting of faceted curtain walling and brise soliel. The office consisted of a comprehensive mechanical and electrical installation, and internal fit out works.
Due to the nature of the project and the fast track 32 week programme we were presented with challenges including not only the accelerated procurement of standard building trades but the procurement of specialist sustainable technologies such as the biomass boilers.
The project was a great success for both McLaren Construction Ltd and Standard Life Investments.
